A good example of a game that has been greatly influenced by a series of books are the series of harry potter games, this is because the story of these games greatly revolve around the series of harry potter books in terms of characters which have also been named or titled off the book they were been based on. Although they were based on and named after the books the way the game plays isn't exactly the same as how the story goes in the book which could also vary depending on what console you use to play the game. An example is the troll event where in the book Ron uses the levitation charm to knock the troll out but on the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube Game Harry uses the spell spongify instead of Ron using the levitation charm.

Theatre
A good example for a game that has been influenced by theater is a game called Puppeteer, it can be played in both the traditional 2D and in 3D. It is a side-scrolling platform game which the player can control a character named Kutaro who is a boy that has been changed into an animated puppet and then immediately decapitated, along the game he is able to obtain various types of heads which he uses to replace his own, each of the heads has the ability to enable him access to certain animations. The game background is based on the traditional puppet show theater stand and how there are spotlights the follows the player character which is why this game is a perfect example for a game that has been influenced by theater but you can also see how the character is designed to look like a puppet that was made from wood.

Film
The harry potter game series is yet again another good example for this because the game series follows the film series but the film series is based on the series of novels created by J.K. Rowling. There are only very little difference with how the story goes in the film from the book. The way the stories are described in the books are quite different but the direction the story goes are very closely similar to each other. An example for the differences between the novel and the the film is that on the owl post scene on the film it starts with by showing Harry performing the "Lumos Maxima" spell, well aware of the restrictions of underage wizards and did not recieve any type of warning; every time he did it, uncle Vernon would come to see what was happening and Harry would hide under the covers. However, in the book Harry only uses a simple torch. The spell is later used on the sixth film.

A good example for a game that has been based of a TV show is the walking dead, The walking dead TV show has 6 seasons with the average episodes of 16. It has a total of 29 main characters some being guests and others being recurring characters. The walking dead game is like one of those games where it's based on the that particular TV show but it doesn't follow the same story line as TV show does and the same goes for the cast or the characters. The concept of the game is actually based on The Walking Dead comic series but it is also tied to the TV series adaptation of the comic series.
The game is played in third-person perspective which showcases a variety of cinematic camera angles, as the player or the the protagonist known as Lee Everett you work with a rag-tag group of survivors to stay alive in the zombie apocalypse. The game series has for two seasons with two other mini series and an incoming third season. I think many people incorrectly say that the game was based off of the TV series because it was released about two years after the first season but just a month after the second season of the TV series but I think that the TV series kind of helped to push the creators of the game to make it because of it's growing popularity. The events of the game runs concurrently to the comic with the starting onset of the zombie apocalypse, where dead humans have become zombies aka "walkers" that feed on the living which then quickly overwhelmed the population.
